The "American Staunton" chess pieces have a traditional design and are a good choice for tournament play as well as private chess games. Due to the widespread use of this design, it is also used in chess clubs and enjoys a high popularity for their easy handling. The wood used for this chess piece set is boxwood, with the knight hand-carved and the details of all the pieces hand-finished. The chess pieces are weighted and their undersides felted. With a king height of 97 mm, the set can be used in tournaments. Additional queens are included for pawn conversion. A chessboard with a square size of 55 - 58 mm is recommended.
